Stephens County Unemployment Rate Improves!


Stephens County’s unemployment rate shows an increase in the first month of 2012. According to the Georgia Department of Labor, Stephens County’s preliminary unemployment rate increased to 9.9 percent in January. That marks a four-tenth of a percentage point increase form December’s revised rate of 9.5 percent. However, the January unemployment rate this year is 1.4 percent lower than the revised rate of 11.3 percent in January 2011.
