According to statistics released Thursday by the Georgia Department of Labor, Stephens County’s preliminary unemployment rate for February was 9.6 percent. That marks a three-tenths of a percent decline from January’s revised rate of 9.9 percent. This February’s unemployment rate is also nine-tenths of a percent lower than the revised rate for February 2011 of 10.5 percent.
