Currahee Club is hosting its first Farmer and Artisan Day on Saturday, August 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Community Manager Anne Shurley said they are excited to invite the entire community to this event. “We are excited about people coming in,” said Shurley. “We are excited about having this market. It is going to be set up on the grand lawn of the (new) Amenities Center.” Shurley said that it should provide a great opportunity for people to learn more about what it takes to bring food from the farm to the dinner table or make homemade items like soaps, lotions, and more. The farmers and artisans from Stephens and surrounding counties will all have items for sale to those who come out. “Everyone will be able to go, stroll through, and purchase fresh vegetables, fruits, eggs, honey, homemade jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, relishes, gourmet salsas, along with lotions, candles, crochet items (and more),” said Shurley. There is no charge to attend the event. For more information on the Farmer and Artisan Day at the Currahee Club, contact Anne Shurley at 706-827-1000.
