The Patterson Pump Company manufactures and supplies quality pumps for fire, municipal, industrial, flood control, plumbing, and HVAC markets. They serve customers worldwide in restoring and creating new pumps that are of quality and efficient flow power. Their larger pumps can empty an Olympic sized swimming pool of 660,000 gallons in roughly 30 seconds or less. The smaller pumps have half of that flow rate.
Patterson Pump broke ground in Stephens County in 1989 near Currahee Mountain. The company was purchased by machinery company Gorman-Rupp in the fall of 1988. In 2016, Patterson acquired Morrison Pump Company, adding to their pump manufacturers. Patterson is also one of Stephens County's international companies, having a branch in County Westmeath, Ireland.
Recently, they secured a $70 million contract where they manufactured and supplied 17 pumps to New Orleans which were placed in the canals and levees.
