As part of the SCDA's ongoing efforts to bring and retain
industry in Toccoa/Stephens County, we do not want to forget to recognize those
businesses and industries that are already here and continuing to grow. By highlighting and supporting our existing
businesses, we can assist them and hopefully create an atmosphere for growth in
our community.
This month we are highlighting Universal Maintenance
Inc. They are a relative new business to
our community located on 682 S. Broad St. in Toccoa. It is a family-owned construction company
that started in 2005 and move to Toccoa in 2009. They employ some 25-35 employees and hope to
grow in 2011.
UMI provides design, construction, installation, equipment,
maintenance, and fabrication services.
They mainly service the poultry industry with sludge processing and
water recycling systems. They have a pending patent called the Decant System, it
offers potential growth for UMI. This
would assist in decreasing the water pollution.
UMI offers turn- key cost competitive services so customers no longer
have to go to dozens of subcontractors to get a complete package. More information may be found at:
SCDA salutes UMI and its employees for being an important
part of our industrial base in Toccoa/Stephens County. Our hope is that UMI will continue to grow
and be successful in the future.
