The Stephens County Development Authority approves its
budget for
Fiscal Year 2013. The SCDA board unanimously
approved the budget at its meeting on Tuesday.
The total budget is for $463,111.

Tim Martin said that
the budget does not contain any major changes
from last year. “It continues a very aggressive, programmatic effort in attraction and
recruiting, working with existing industries, making sure
our infrastructure is
what it should be with our industrial park, and
being very aggressive with our
marketing,” said Martin. It includes
a $181,263 contribution from the Stephens County Commission and
a
$40,000 contribution from the Toccoa City Commission.
Along with that, the Development Authority is budgeting to receive $72,000 in rental income from G-M Wood Products and $8,111 in miscellaneous income. The Development Authority plans to use $161,737 from reserves for the Fiscal Year 2013 budget.
On the expenditure side, the Development Authority does include a 1.5 percent cost of living adjustment in employee salaries.
