‘Band of Brothers’ honored on 68th D-Day anniversary!

A new bronze statue, made in the likeness of Maj. Dick Winters, was recently unveiled in Normandy, France.   Winter was one of the many soldiers that trained at Camp Toccoa on Currahee Mountain, documented and made notable in the book and movie “Band of Brothers”.  Band of Brothers chronicled the struggle of the paratroopers that dropped near Normandy on the mission to destroy four German 105mm artillery guns that stood in the way of the Allied troops.  For the complete story visit http://www.independentmail.com/news/2012/jun/06/band-brothers-honored-d-day-anniversary/
