According to figures released last week by the Georgia Department of Labor, Stephens County preliminary unemployment rate dropped to 8.1% in August while Georgia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell slightly to 8.7%. This is an 0.8% decrease from the July revised rate of 8.9%. Also, this preliminary rate is a full 1.2 percentage points lower than the revised August 2012 rate of 9.2 percent. Read more...
