SCDA SPOTLIGHT APPLEGATE INSULATION!

As SCDA continues to bring businesses and industries to our community, we would  also like to remember the existing industries of Stephens County.  Applegate Insulation started as a heating and cooling equipment contractor in 1952. The small company became Applegate Insulation Manufacturing in 1978, delivering cellulose insulation to homeowners, insulation professionals, builders and architects worldwide. Applegate uses a Cellulose Insulation as one of their insulations, which meets and often exceeds tough fire standards providing increased safety and peace of mind. This insulation has a higher density R-value and a superior application method than other insulations. Applegate Insulation provides great energy savings and significantly decreases air infiltration. Above all, this insulation is made of up to 85% American recycled materials making it one of the greenest insulation. Their headquarters are located in Webberville, Michigan. Applegate has seven plants located in Michigan and others in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Eastanollee, Georgia. The company invested $4 million to the Stephens County facility located in the Meadowbrook Industrial Park.  SCDA would like to thank Applegate for their facility that currently employs fifteen workers. They have expansion plans, however not in the near future. In the meantime, they are considering a new product line since they do occupy all of the present building. Our hope is that Applegate will have the opportunity to expand and become more successful in Toccoa/Stephens County.
